Another Editor theme question

Postby DrOldies » Thu Jan 08, 2015 3:08 am

I'm running the latest z28 beta of the editor, and I would like to have a black background that is easier on my eyes. Something like the attachment that was posted earlier. I have looked through the previous posts, and searched my UECIDE installation, for xxxx.theme or theme.txt. There are no files related to themes in the UECIDE folder or my c:\users...\UECIDE folder. What am I missing? There are lots of window themes but only the white background, and the terminal versions for editor themes.

Funnily enough the next version has a new theme called "darkness" in it. It follows the tenet "0x202020 is the new black" ;) Here it is with the HiFi window theme:

You could put a file "darkness.theme" into your {uecide data}/themes folder (make it if it's not there), and put in it:
Code: Select all
name=Darkness
editor.fgcolor = #b0b0b0
editor.bgcolor = #202020
editor.font = SansSerif,plain,24
editor.gutter.bgcolor = #202020
editor.gutter.fgcolor = #b0b0b0
editor.gutter.bordercolor= #b0b0b0
editor.fold.fgcolor = #b0b0b0
editor.fold.bgcolor = #202020
editor.line.bgcolor = #1C2024
editor.caret.fgcolor = #3faaed
editor.caret.style.insert = line
editor.caret.style.replace = box
editor.markall.bgcolor = #102010
editor.markall.border = false
editor.bracket.bgcolor = #202020
editor.bracket.bordercolor = #202020
editor.bracket.pair = true
editor.select.bgcolor = #101020
editor.select.rounded = false
editor.annotation.fgcolor = #ff0000
editor.comment.fgcolor = #40b040
editor.datatype.fgcolor = #b08000
editor.error.fgcolor = #b00000
editor.function.fgcolor = #eead00
editor.identifier.fgcolor = #b0b0b0
editor.literal.fgcolor = #4060b0
editor.operator.fgcolor = #b0b0b0
editor.preprocessor.fgcolor = #808080
editor.regex.fgcolor = #b0b0b0
editor.reserved.fgcolor = #0080b0
editor.variable.fgcolor = #b0b0b0
editor.brackets.fgcolor = #8080b0
console.font = Monospaced,plain,14
console.color = #202020
console.output.color = #b0b0b0
console.error.color = #b00000
console.warning.color = #b0b000
editor.line.enabled=true
editor.line.fade=true
editor.compile.error.bgcolor=#b00000
editor.compile.warning.bgcolor=#b0b000
editor.searchall.bgcolor=#008000

It's not perfect, but reasonably easy on the eyes. Feel free to suggest alterations to it.

I think the italics are imposed by the editor rather than a theme at the moment. It should be possible to override it with the theme. Not sure in the version you are running off hand - I have re-jigged the themes somewhat in my current version.

The key I have is:
Code: Select all
editor.comment.font=...

which you can certainly try and see if it's supported in your version... :)

It does work ! thx a lot !
One more question : I love the dark theme but the project subwindows should have a white background or white fonts
where do I change that ?

For those you need to change the window theme. Try HiFi.

Work around (because I don't like HiFi)
start Uecide in default theme then change to dark mode
