SD card on PIC32 (PinguinoOTG, Lenny etc)

Postby AnthonyP » Mon Jul 10, 2017 7:28 am

Hello,
I use the Olimex PinguinoOTG PIC32 board which has the Arduino pin layout and takes a tft display shield.

The following are a couple of examples to read/write to the SD on the board or the SD on the display shield.
I have also attached an example using the SD library and the SDfat library,,,,the SDfat library is approx twice as fast as the SD library in my simple tests...
Matt will notice I have used his SDBench example, thank you Matt.....
CS Pin 10 for the tft display shields...
CS Pin 36 for the PinguinoOTG....

I hope these are of some interest...

Nice ones. UECIDE actually has the ability to include examples with individual boards. Mind if I grab these two and bundle them?

Hello Matt,
No problem, they came from your example on SD speed read/write.

Hello Matt,
I have several examples for the PinguinoOTG board that I would be happy to share if you think they would be of interest.
I ran a short course introducing engineering students to sensors...
I have examples for:
DHT22 temp/humidity
DS18S20 temperature
SR04 Ultrasonic sensor, short range/long range (same code)
GPS through onboard serial or software serial
RGB led strip (demo for 8 led)
Cheap TFT shield example
SD logging examples for the above...
Of course these all use available libraries and are versions of examples on the web.....
Bundled together as simple examples for a specific board may be useful.....
Regards
Anthony

Brilliant. The simplest option is (if you like Git) to fork this repo:

https://github.com/UECIDE/olimex-pinguino32-otg

Then add them in the examples folder and make a PR.
