No plug-in manager

I helped a friend to use uecide. Everything seemed okay until he arrived at home.

Something was wrong with "boards".

Selecting "Tools -> plug-in manager" did NOT do anything. No plug-in manager window popped up.

We used teamviewer to see if I could do something remotely but the same result: no plug-in window.

It just sprang back to "Tools"

Weird!

We both run UECIDE on Mac.

My installation is OK. Aswell on Mac as on Ubuntu.

I have never come across that before.

All I can suggest is open a terminal window and type:

java -jar /Applications/UECIDE.app/Contents/Resources/Java/uecide.jar --exceptions

That should open the UECIDE application and give you any errors that occur in the terminal window.

Alas not. That output is meaningless thanks to OS X being somewhat strange. I have seen those errors before, and they have nothing to do with anything - they're caused by running java in a terminal. It's a right pain, cus you can't get anything useful out of it because of them.

All I can suggest now is to delete the preferences.txt file and see if that helps.

That's usually a safe bet ;) Ubuntu is what I develop on so it's guaranteed to be the most supported platform. Not having access to an OS X system (other than a very slow and often not working VM) testing on OS X is not really a possibility for me. It would be nice if I had the spare cash to afford a real OS X machine, but alas not in the current Brexit-influenced financial climate.

Running this server costs money. This server not only hosts this website, but is also the main build platform for creating the download files for UECIDE. Just a couple of pounds (or Dollars, Yen, Mongolian tögrög... we're not fussy) can help to offset the costs.
