Version 0.8.5b

Postby matt » Fri Apr 25, 2014 8:09 pm

Version 0.8.5b changes:

5d95045 Added-library-core-sub-folder-support
One common gripe recently has been that of managing libraries. The previous release brought the concept of multiple library folders for grouping your libraries into different subjects, but this release now takes it a step further. You can now place a sub-folder into any of your categorised folders, which is named the same as a core (such as "arduino", or "chipKIT"). Any libraries placed in these folders will still be part of the overall category, but will only show up in the IDE when you have that specific core selected. No more will you be seeing Arduino-specific libraries when you are working on a chipKIT board!

A number of extra bugs have been fixed, such as the inability to change editor fonts on a Mac, and teething issues with the new library categories (like the SAR export not finding libraries).

Added-library-core-sub-folder-support : I love the idea but don't understand how to use it ?
Do we have to add a new entry in the Preferences/library ?
Or is is folder based somewhere ?
thx

You just make the folder(s) in any of your existing library folders. No need to change any settings.

For instance, if you have

C:\Users\Bob\Documents\Libraries

you can just make folders like:

C:\Users\Bob\Documents\Libraries\chipKIT
C:\Users\Bob\Documents\Libraries\arduino
... etc
