No Such file or directory Error

No Such file or directory Error

Postby REZW0004 » Wed Aug 16, 2017 6:52 am

Hi all, I'm new to coding and recently assigned to use UECIDE as part of an assessment. I've installed everything correctly and managed to upload the first test code on my board through the university computer but when I attempted the same process at my own personal laptop at home I get the following Error:

I've tried multiple times deleting and re-installing the program but same error.

Thanks.

Can you check (in the "output" tab with verbose command execution turned on in preferences) what is actually being executed when pic32prog runs?

What version of UECIDE and the core and compiler are you using? It looks like you have a mismatch between the UECIDE version and what the core / compiler expects - it's not running the post-build conversions of the elf file into the various hex, eep, etc files.

UECIDE version 0.8.9-pre16
Compailer - PIC32 Compiler for MX and MZ version 4.8.3
core - 12.1.3

I download UECIDE from the website and installed compiler and core through university computer. We were also given the UECIDE zip file containing everything which I also used.

Ah, sounds like you have an ancient compiler/core there. You should be on "PIC32 Compiler version 1.43" (5.2.0) and Core version 1.4.3

I don't know why you have ancient plugins there - they haven't been available for download for a long time now. They were designed to work with UECIDE 0.8.8 and a lot of things have changed since then.

If you aren't installing the current versions through the plugin manager then I cannot help you.

Those files are given by the university to use so idk either, but where would I find version 0.8.8? Checked around and found no download link to it. I know is old and all but I need it.

Thanks

0.8.8 is obsolete.

Ignore the files provided by the university. Install 0.8.9 and use the plugin manager to install the boards and cores etc that you need.

It wouldn't work with my board, our bootloader is also an older version. Went and got 0.8.8 off the uni computers this morning and everything works fine now. Thanks anyway for your time mate.

What doesn't work with your board? Is it a special board? Do you have specially crafted board files that aren't available in the plugin manager? You can probably just copy the boards folder into 0.8.9 and use the proper plugins for the rest.

The bootloader version makes no difference to UECIDE.
